Do I need a booking?

To just come in and have a beverage, hang out, or watch axe throwing, no. Be our guest, enjoy our wonderful atmosphere and scent of fresh cut pine.
What are your hours?
Booking for private events such as birthdays, bachelor/ bachelorette parties, corporate team building etc. are able to be booked upon request and subject to availability.
Regular booking time slots are available
Tuesday to Friday from 4:30 until 10:30 PM.
Saturday from 3:00 PM until 10:30 PM
Each time slot is 1.5 hours long.
The lounge is open until 11:00 PM (occasionally later!)
Sunday & Monday - Closed
How do I book?
The booking process can be done entirely online. If you have any related questions or difficulty however, please feel free to contact us through our contact page.
If your first choice date isn’t available, we’d encourage you to contact us to get on the wait list as cancellations may occur.
How does payment work?
We accept cash, debit as well as all major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you give us at least 72 hours notice ahead of your scheduled booking that you need to cancel or reschedule. If your group size increases or decreases significantly, we ask that you please let us know, so we can adjust accordingly. Groups over 14 people require a credit card to hold your booking.
Is there parking?
Yes, there are paid parking lots close by and street parking available as well.
What are the minimum and maximum group sizes for event bookings?
The recommended minimum group size is 6 people. Our maximum group size is currently 34 people (for a regular 1.5 hour time slot) but we can accommodate more for special bookings. Please inquire for more details. Smaller group sizes are also welcome based on availability.
Will you take Walk Ins?
Yes! We can't guarantee an available coach and/or lane, but we will take walk ins for groups under 6 people. We recommend you call the Lounge the day you wish to join us and we can tell you what we have open.
What clothing and shoes should I wear?
A loose fitting top is recommended to allow unrestricted upper body and arm motion. Baggy hoodies are not recommended while throwing. Close toed shoes are mandatory. No sandals or flip flops. High heels are also not recommended. Lumberjack plaid is not mandatory, but always appreciated!
What is a typical booking like?
A typical booking lasts for approximately 1.5 hours, depending on the group size. The event will start with hands on professional instruction and safety talk from one of our professional coaches. Then your group will do a round robin tournament followed by a knock out round to determine the champion. We do not give out awards but you are welcome to bring your own. Special event booking typically last longer, we recommend that you contact us for special event requests.
Do you provide all the equipment?
Yes! We provide a variety of double bitted axes suitable for all throwing abilities. Our axes are perfectly balanced and do the hard work for you. Targets are trunks made of spruce and pine.
Can my kids do this?
Yes! At our Moncton location only! Youth, ages 15 and older are allowed to throw when accompanied by an adult who is also throwing. Unfortunately, at our Dartmouth location, Participants must be 19 and older.
Can we take pictures or videos?
Yes! We encourage you to do so and welcome you to share them on our social media pages and your own! #timberlounge
Will someone show us how to throw an axe?
Yes! Our trained professional staff will give you a brief orientation at the beginning of your event where you will be shown the proper and safe way to throw the axe. Our staff will remain on hand to ensure safety and to provide tips and tricks throughout your event.
Is it safe? Has anyone ever gotten hurt?
We have never had anyone hurt or injured in any way. It is completely safe and we are very strict in making sure that everyone is throwing the axes in a safe manner. We have a no tolerance policy for excessive drinking in the Timber Lounge. Our Throwing Coaches reserve the right to discontinue axe throwing privileges to anyone, at anytime for any reason if they deem necessary without refund. Patrons will not be allowed anywhere in the Timber Lounge if intoxicated.
Can we show up early to set-up for our special event?
You’re welcome to arrive approximately 20 minutes prior to your scheduled special event time to take care of any set-up requirements.
If you need to drop off any material earlier than this however, please contact us to make special arrangements. While not always possible, we’ll do what we can to help out.
Are spectators allowed?
Yes spectators are welcome at no cost, to watch, cheer-on and enjoy our AXEceptional atmosphere.
Can I bring my own axe?
